---this "arrogant" & "moody" Neoplatonist was not a Christian, though he appeared to be such? Every year millions of people come to see Michelangelo's Sistine ceiling, which is the largest fresco painting on earth in the holiest of Christianity's chapels; yet there is not one single Christian image in this vast, magnificent artwork. The Sistine Secrets tells the fascinating story of how Michelangelo embedded messages of brotherhood, tolerance, and freethinking in his painting

LEONARDO DA VINCI-MICHAELANGELO-RAPHAEL
Often called “The Three High Renaissance Giants”
The Italian High Renaissance is the defining movement in art history. No other artistic movement has contributed more to development of art as a whole. Before the Italian Renaissance artist held the same position in society as any other skilled craftsmen and were given as much respect as carpenters and goldsmiths. But, in the 1400's this all changed. A new revolution in art opened the eyes of the world to the glory of the world itself. Before 1400 the primary subjects of art were religious in nature. Aside from commissioned portraits most artists made their livings painting biblical scenes and portraits of saints. It was generally assumed that only religious imagery was deserving of reproduction…During the Renaissance a new interest in Greek and Roman culture lead to an explosion in knowledge about the human form along with innovations in mathematics and science. Suddenly, all creations of God, and the human form in particular became revered as testament to God's great power and perfection. Beauty became connected to morality and the pursuit of beauty in art became widespread…Artist themselves were elevated in social status and their works were looked upon not as mere crafts, but as miraculous creations that were divinely inspired. At the forefront of the Renaissance movement where the three most prominent artists of the Italian Renaissance; Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael. (from Wikipedia:)
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was an Italian polymath, having been a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer [As was Jesus, for, as I show in Part Three, He helped author the works of the greatest musicians Bach-Mozart-Beethoven & the greatest writers Homer, Aeschylus-Sophocles-Euripides, Plato, Aristotle, & Virgil, and many of the most famous buildings in history including The Colossus of Rhodes & The Statue of Liberty, Notre Dame & The Twin Towers. And so can we probably expect Jesus to correctly answer any question posed by those who meet Him in the New Jerusalem, as Solomon a type of Christ answers any question asked of him in 1 Kings 10.]… Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man", a man whose seemingly infinite curiosity was equalled only by his powers of invention.[1] He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.[2]… It is primarily as a painter that Leonardo was and is renowned. Two of his works, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, occupy unique positions as the most famous, most reproduced and most parodied portrait and religious painting of all time, their fame approached only by Michelangelo's Creation of Adam.[1]… As an engineer, Leonardo's ideas were vastly ahead of his time. He conceptualised a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull and outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. [“In Christ are all the treasures of wisdom & knowledge hid” (Colossians 2:3), so seek Him if you seek wisdom.]… Within his own lifetime his extraordinary powers of invention, his "outstanding physical beauty", "infinite grace", "great strength and generosity", "regal spirit and tremendous breadth of mind" as described by Vasari[9] attracted the curiosity of others [So was Christ “fairer than the sons of men” (Psalm 45:2), along with many types of Him such as Achilles, Alexander the Great, & Augustus.]… Vasari, in his Lives of the Artists written about thirty years after Leonardo's death, described him as having talents that "transcended nature"… the biographer known as "Anonimo Gaddiano" wrote, c. 1540: "His genius was so rare and universal that it can be said that nature worked a miracle on his behalf”… The famous art historian Bernard Berenson wrote in 1896: "Leonardo is the one artist of whom it may be said with perfect literalness: Nothing that he touched but turned into a thing of eternal beauty.” [So does Christ make everything, including the characters of human beings, beautiful! “Hunger & thirst for righteousness” (Matt. 5) if you too seek to be beautiful.]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Da_Vinci_Code: It is a worldwide bestseller which had 60.5 million copies in print by May 2006 and has been translated into 44 languages. It is thought to be the 19th best-selling book of all time...The interpretation of hidden messages in Leonardo's famous works, (which relate to the concept of the sacred feminine) including the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, figure prominently in the solution to the mystery.

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni[1] (March 6, 1475 – February 18, 1564), commonly known as Michelangelo, was an Italian Renaissance painter, sculptor, architect, poet and engineer. Despite making few forays beyond the arts, his versatility in the disciplines he took up was of such a high order that he is often considered a contender for the title of the archetypal Renaissance man, along with his rival and fellow Italian Leonardo da Vinci… Michelangelo's output in every field during his long life was prodigious; when the sheer volume of correspondence, sketches and reminiscences that survive is also taken into account, he is the best-documented artist of the 16th century… In a demonstration of Michelangelo's unique standing, he was the first Western artist whose biography was published while he was alive.[2] Two biographies were published of him during his lifetime; One of them, by Giorgio Vasari, proposed that he was the pinnacle of all artistic achievement since the beginning of the Renaissance, a viewpoint that continued to have currency in art history for centuries. In his lifetime he was also often called Il Divino ("the divine one")… Michelangelo was a profound perfectionist. If he found the tiniest flaw in one of his works, he considered it ruined[4]. [So are God’s works perfect!]…[His paintings “The Last Judgment” & the ones on the Sistine Chapel ceiling are often considered the most famous in history.]
From “The Last Judgment”: what happens to those who don’t believe & follow Jesus
Raphael Sanzio, usually known by his first name alone (in Italian Raffaello)[1] (April 6 or March 28, 1483 – April 6, 1520)[2] was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance, celebrated for the perfection and grace of his paintings and drawings. Together with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci he forms the traditional trinity of great masters of that period. Raphael was enormously productive [like many other symbols of God, including Plato, Aristotle, & Aeschylus-Sophocles-Euripides, and so should we be, for we should be “zealous for good works” (Titus 2:14)] and, despite his early death at thirty-seven, a large body of his work remains, especially in the Vatican. He was extremely influential in his lifetime, but after his death the influence of his great rival Michelangelo was more widespread until the 18th and 19th centuries, when his more serene and harmonious qualities were again regarded as the highest models... Raphael was clearly influenced by Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling in the course of painting the room. Michelangelo accused Raphael of plagiarism and years after Raphael's death, complained in a letter that "everything he knew about art he got from me" [So too did Socrates & Plato influence Aristotle, who were all types of Christ, & Bach Mozart & Beethoven.]… Raphael was one of the finest draftsmen in the history of Western art… Raphael's premature death on Good Friday (April 6, 1520) (possibly his 37th birthday) [Jesus too was thought to have died on Good Friday, & Abraham Lincoln, a type of the Antichrist, died on Good Friday of 1865. Joan of Arc, Mozart, & Alexander the Great, other types of Christ, died at about age 19, 33, & 36 respectively. As one member of the Trinity Bach-Mozart-Beethoven died in his thirties, so did one & only one member of the Trinity Leonardo-Michelangelo-Raphel die in his thirties]
MEANING OF THEIR NAMES
A small percentage of people have names which echo Jesus so strongly as these:
-From Germanic leon, lion + hard, hardy: having rugged physical strength; inured to fatigue or hardships. A hardy plant is one that can withstand the extremes of climate, such as frost. [Christ is called “The Lion of Judah” (Revelation 5:5), and endured hardship, including the devastation during and prior to His Crucifixion. The heroes of The Iliad & The Odyssey, who are types of Christ, are compared to lions probably more than any other animal.]
-Italian Michele + Angelo, referring to Michael the Archangel. Michael: from Hebrew ????? (mikhael, “who is like God?”). [Jesus was “The Angel of the LORD” in the Old Testament (as I show in Part One) & is greater than all other angels, as archangels are the chief angels.]
-Hebrew "God cures" or "God has healed". “…one of the seven holy angels, which present the prayers of the saints, and which go in and out before the glory of the Holy One.” (Tobit 12:15) [So does Jesus intercede for us before God the Father (Hebrews 9), sit at the right hand of the Father, and heal of physical & spiritual sickness (i.e. sin).]
